Eid Abaya Styles

Eid Abaya Styles

Salaam Guys! I hope you are all well.

Ramadan is almost over and Eid is approaching us very fast. I have to say that this year has gone so incredibly fast to a point that's it gets kinda scary. Don't you guys feel the same way? I mean all I remember was that it was winter 2012 and then the rest is all a blur.

Anyway, I'm sure you guys might be thinking about what you'll be doing on Eid, spending time with family and friends I hope :) it's always more fun that way. Eid clothes are another thing we all look forward to. One of my favourite pieces of clothing is an abaya, it's one of the most modest and simple garments to wear, and the best thing of all is that they come in all different styles and colours

I put together three different types of styles to look out for.

1. This style of abaya is called the butterfly abaya (yes, you heard it right :p ) Or the bisht abaya. It's wide from the sides ( a bit like a cape) and is extremely modest and very stylish. This particular one is from the website called Akhawat, they have really beautiful abayas that are inspired from the middle eastern abaya style.

2. This type of abaya has a more modern feel to it all by playing around with different colours and styles. This is from the Inayah website, they have the most beautiful, sophisticated, modern abayas and dresses. I get a very Zara- like feel which I absolutely love.

3. Another style is the ones that have beautiful embroidery on the sleeves that make it look really elegant. You could also wear it with a matching scarf to finish the look.
There are also ones that have detail in the middle of the abaya which is similar to the butterfly abaya but have a gathering in the middle instead. These particular ones are from a website called Sheikha, this website is by far the more affordable of all that were mentioned and have great styles and dresses.

It is also best to visit those stores that sell abayas on the normal streets. Don't neglect those, they have amazing styles of abayas at reasonable prices. I underestimated them and was amazed at what they had.

On a final note, I hope you all had an wonderful Ramadan and I hope you have an amazing Eid too inshallah-Allah.

Take care xx

Maxi Skirts £15 and under

Maxi Skirts £15 and under

Salaam everyone :)  Ramadan Kareeem (although ramadan is almost over) i hope you are all well.

We are in summer finally in the UK, I'm a few weeks late though - bare with me . Although I do love my abayas (every day guys ...every single day) , I wanted to switch it around and try some maxi skirts. However, I found myself in a bit of a pickle, the skirts were either not modest or extremely overpriced, so it took me a long while to find what I was looking for - an affordable modest maxi skirt. I've been shopping around I have spotted these great maxi skirts at decent prices, all different materials so you can pick which one you would prefer.

1. Jersey maxi skirt

I spotted this online when it was reduced to just £15, the material is jersey so it is extremely comfortable. The only problem I have with jersey material skirts or dresses is that they do tend to sometimes stick to your skin or in better words frame your silhouette, which is not what we want if looking for modest wear. So be sure to look out for that. The great thing about the warehouse website is that they have video so you can check out the flow of the material. I've selected this skirt because it looks slightly on the more baggy side, so there's less of chance it frames your what I call silhouette ( a little miranda line for you guys :p) giving you extra room.

I saw this skirt at a new look store and i just had to get it. The material and overall look of the skirt is simple yet sophisticated. The voile fabric is comfortable and covering (none of that see through stuff), as well as being really affordable. There is a vast amount of colours and sizes to choose from ( there's even a tall range). Just a slight warning, this material does crease so be sure to take care when storing this skirt, I would advise you to hang it after ironing instead of folding it to save you that extra bit of time when getting ready. This type of skirt can also be worn in the winter.

While visiting Leicester one weekend, I saw this shop called Select. I'm not really sure if they have a London store, I'll let you guys know if I  find out. This store has amazing clothes and accessories at really good prices. I found this chiffon maxi skirt in the colour burgandy and indigo. Chiffon is great for all types of clothing, and especially for summer. Although chiffon does tend to be see through, this has a lining to give you that extra coverage, and don't be put off by the stock photo where it looks really see through on the bottom - it doesn't look that bad in real life. However, I do recommend you visit the store instead to make sure the fitting is correct if you are able to.

Finally....

I do hope that I've helped you on finding the perfect maxi skirt for this summer. I always recommend you go to the store if you can because even on the shelf, you can never really know how the skirt will look and feel when actually wearing it - it makes a very big difference. Type of material is always another thing to look out for too.

Take care xx

Review: Anatomicals Deep Cleansing Mud Mask

Hi,

I hope you are all well. :)

These past few days, my skin has been breaking out like never before. I have combination/ dry skin, so mostly, the only areas that are most active in breakouts is my t-zone area. I don't experience many problems and as long as my skin is properly moisturised - I'm good to go. Whereas now its quite the opposite. I have reason to believe, that this is probably due to the harsh winter weather we've been having lately. As I sometimes develop a slight rash on my face when i go out.

So lately I've been trying different methods to reduce the breakouts and the redness of my skin. I started with the natural methods first, as I'm not very keen on putting too many products on my face. It seemed easier at the time too, since i'd have to try a load of different products to figure out which ones the most effective. I tried the natural yogurt mask, and it turned out to be quite good. It seemed to cleanse my face and get rid of the redness. I then tried the egg white and lemon one which worked wonders, and I woke up the next morning with brighter and more clearer skin.

After a while, I decided I should try and buy some sort of mask that I could add to my skin regime. Afte reading several good reviews about montagne jeunesse masks, I decided why I should give it a try. Unfortunately, they were out of stock in my local supermarket, and while looking for an alternative, I found 'Anatomaticals Deep Cleansing Mud Mask' so I thought 'why not?'. Mind you, they were only 50p, after being reduced from 90 something pence.

So here's the review bit of the post. Sorry to keep you waiting :)

The mask is ashy green with a thick yet light texture. When applied to the face, it goes on smoothly, and has a wonderful fragrance to it. It's best to wait till the mask is completely dry and then rinse it off. After rinsing it off, my skin was a lot smoother and my breakouts appeared smaller the morning after. The thing I like most about this mask, is that it has very few chemicals and ingredients. So say goodbye to those dreadful long tedious lists :p It is best to consider that this is a cleansing mask, so it WILL dry your skin out, so be sure to follow this treatment with a good moisturiser.

Overall I think this mask is quite good. I was totally new to the product and I had not heard of it before but it didn't disappoint me. I wouldn't mind purchasing this again, and the great thing about it is, despite the price you can still get more than one use out of it. Bargain!

I hope you all enjoyed this post

Thank you
Xx

A year later...

So i guess I took a longer break than I should have, due to education and other responsibilities. Its really weird how long i was away, time flies doesn't it?
Anyway, I guess its time for me to take a pledge or write a vow for me to be a bit more consistent :)

'I solemnly swear.... '

Shall I ?? hahaha

I do however, promise to be more consistent and not slack off and procrastinate (I am THE queen of procrastination).

For now, i hope you are all well. Thank you for visiting my blog and commenting. Trust me, they do keep me going, its wonderful to know people are reading :)

Take care

xx
